Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Job Summary
KIC Ventures is seeking a highly strategic, disciplined, and entrepreneurial Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to serve as a key executive leader responsible for the financial strategy, capital markets activities, operational discipline, and long term value creation of the firm and its portfolio companies.
The CFO will work directly alongside the CEO and Founder, Dr. Kingsley R. Chin, helping drive fundraising initiatives, financial forecasting, strategic positioning, mergers and acquisitions, partnership negotiations, commercialization planning, and future liquidity opportunities including acquisitions and potential IPO initiatives.
This role requires a sophisticated financial executive with deep experience in growth stage companies, private equity, venture capital, healthcare, medical technology, or investment banking environments. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical and operational capabilities with proven experience raising institutional capital, managing complex transactions, and building scalable financial infrastructure for high growth organizations.
The CFO will play a critical leadership role in positioning KIC Ventures and its portfolio companies for accelerated enterprise value growth and long term strategic success.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Leadership & Strategic Planning (35%)
Corporate Financial Strategy
Lead the overall financial strategy of KIC Ventures and its portfolio companies, ensuring alignment with long term corporate growth objectives and shareholder value creation.
Forecasting & Financial Planning
Oversee:
Financial forecasting
Budgeting
Cash flow management
Scenario analysis
Capital allocation
Financial modeling
Operational performance metrics
Strategic Positioning
Partner closely with the CEO on strategic positioning initiatives including:
Corporate growth strategy
Market expansion
Commercialization planning
Capital structure optimization
Enterprise valuation enhancement
Financial Infrastructure
Build scalable financial systems, reporting structures, operational controls, and performance dashboards to support rapid organizational growth.
2. Capital Raising & Investor Relations (30%)
Fundraising Leadership
Play a leadership role in capital raising initiatives including:
Institutional financing rounds
Strategic investments
Venture capital financing
Private equity transactions
Debt financing opportunities
Public market readiness initiatives
Investor Relations
Support and manage relationships with:
Institutional investors
Family offices
Strategic investors
Investment banks
Venture capital and private equity firms
Financial advisors and analysts
Financial Communications
Lead preparation of:
Financial presentations
Investor materials
Due diligence materials
Data room management
Financial reporting packages
Board presentations
Capital Markets Strategy
Assist in evaluating financing structures and long term capital markets strategies to optimize growth and valuation.
3. Mergers, Acquisitions & Strategic Transactions (25%)
M&A Leadership
Support and lead strategic transaction activities including:
Acquisitions
Divestitures
Licensing agreements
Joint ventures
Strategic partnerships
Exit planning initiatives
Transaction Execution
Oversee financial due diligence, valuation analysis, deal structuring, negotiations, and transaction execution activities.
IPO & Exit Readiness
Partner with executive leadership to prepare the organization for future liquidity events including:
Strategic acquisitions
Public offerings
Portfolio company exits
Recapitalization initiatives
Enterprise Value Creation
Drive financial and operational initiatives designed to maximizeenterprise value across the KIC Ventures portfolio.
4. Governance, Compliance & Operational Discipline (10%)
Financial Controls & Compliance
Ensure compliance with all accounting, financial, regulatory, audit, and governance requirements.
Risk Management
Develop systems to proactively manage operational, financial, and strategic risks.
Leadership & Culture
Help foster a disciplined, accountable, and high performance culture across the organization.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience serving in a Chief Financial Officer or senior financial leadership role
Proven experience participating in or leading capital raises totaling more than $50 million
Demonstrated involvement in mergers, acquisitions, strategic partnerships, licensing transactions, or company sales
Strong experience working directly on transaction execution, financial due diligence, negotiations, and deal structuring
Experience supporting high growth entrepreneurial, venture backed, private equity backed, or publicly traded companies
Strong expertise in financial forecasting, corporate finance, strategic planning, and operational scaling
Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and leadership skills
Ability to operate strategically while maintaining strong operational and financial discipline
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast paced growth environment
Preferred Qualifications
IPO experience strongly preferred
Experience in healthcare, medical technology, orthopedic spine, biologics, or life sciences highly desirable
Background in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, or corporate development preferred
Experience working with public company readiness, SEC reporting, or capital markets transactions
CPA, MBA, or advanced finance related degree preferred
