Video Editor/Colorist

Position Overview

KICVentures is looking for an Editor/ Colorist to join the team. This role reports to Post-Production Supervisor or Head of Video Marketing. They support the Post-Production Supervisor in communicating ideas to the Head of Marketing and advise on the effects that can be achieved either in-camera or through the Color process whilst ensuring the final grade remains within the required technical specifications. The position will center on retouching and grading high-end media; animations, videos and discreet content for interactive media projects.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assist in productions, providing support as needed in small to large-scale marketing, film, or commercial operations.

  • Communicate with the Post-Production Supervisor to ensure the correct film, data and video and the EDL relating to this material (Edit List) is delivered for each job

  • Load the EDLs, XMLs, and AAFs, importing video data, conforming all the required material as per the prep files, ensuring that the Colorists can work with the specified media.

  • Will utilize basic principles of film, video and media production in various productions.


  • 4 years, BA in Fine Arts, Communications, Visual Media or related field

  • 2-3 years in a commercial production environment

  • Must have 2-3 years experience with After Effects, Premiere, and Davinci Resolve.

  • An online portfolio and references are required

  • Must be highly organized

  • Must have ability to work independently and or within a team environment.

  • A very solid understanding of operating systems and codecs is required.

  • Must be diligent and exhibit good attention to detail

  • Film production experience in a corporate, commercial or marketing company.

  • Familiarity with Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Audition and larger Adobe Creative Suite

  • Experience editing or designing animation

  • International experience abroad

Working conditions

  • Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. Travel up to 50 %

  • Stand/sit for extended periods of time

  • Must be able to travel by all modes of transportation without restriction both in the USA and abroad.

  • Must be able to read, write and communicate fluently in English.
