Social Media Marketing Associate

Position Overview

You are a triple threat with a passion for writing, social media and marketing. Professionally, you seek to fine tune your social media skills across a variety of brands and channels. As the Social Media Marketing Associate at KICVentures you will be responsible for the writing of a variety of short form content for social media and email marketing. You will report to the Creative Director to craft messaging for key accounts. You will drive significant business impact by helping create programs that improve the overall value of content for the company. You will thrive at KICVentures by being proactive, solution-oriented, organized and an excellent collaborator.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Development of social media & email marketing calendars for several brands

  • Maintaining of a consistent brand voice & messaging across respective communication platforms

  • Writing of short form social media content, namely captions & post descriptors for platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter & YouTube

  • Proposing of campaigns & strategies across digital channels & for email marketing

  • Providing creative ideas & insights to develop new content to support seasonal & business-driven content priorities

  • Creation of email marketing templates and campaigns in MailChimp, our email marketing platform

  • Researching of social landscape best practices, trends & new ideas to build up each brand’s online presence (i.e., relevant & popular hashtags, outreach & engagement to relevant profiles/users, building follower base)

  • Monitoring of social analytics to establish the most beneficial brand practices moving forward


  • Pursuit of a degree in journalism, English, marketing, communications or related field

  • Internship experience in a social media, content marketing or related marketing role

  • Writing samples, email marketing samples and social media content portfolio

  • Strong verbal & written communication skills, including the ability to influence others with diplomacy & tact; ability to work with numerous partners of differing levels, from junior designers to executive management, adjusting interaction style as required

  • Strong project management skills & attention to detail (editing experience); ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines in a busy, fast-paced environment

  • Ability to respond with agility to changing market conditions, adjust processes & priorities accordingly when required

  • Minimal required travel anticipated, but flexibility for occasional travel to conferences or events is preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active social media user

  • Experience managing branded social media channels

  • Experience with MailChimp

  • Special interest in the healthcare technology, wellness & wholesome/healthy lifestyle industries

  • Finger on the pulse when it comes to advertising, marketing & social trends

Working conditions

  • Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
