Sales Engineer
Position Overview

SpineFrontier’s Sales Engineering Team (SET) mission statement:
We believe supporting our customers with quality products, specialized instrumentation, and less exposure surgery techniques to improve lives both surgeons and patients. Approaching customers rapidly and gaining user feedback will drive design and development of safe and effective products and techniques. We work to surgeons to define product and convert them to business!
We need our engineers to know our products inside out, display leadership qualities, and relentlessly engage surgeons to grow revenue as we continue to push medical device technology forward.
Responsibilities
Performing a product demonstration -- online, in person, web seminar, 1-1, group session - product solutions, surgical techniques, features and benefits of products
Responding to objections -- discussion with customer regarding product capabilities and addressing any gaps when compared to existing market or competition
On-site evaluations -- hands-on product evaluation, face to face meeting/demoProviding product requirements input -- input/feedback to engineering team based on market, customer, and product knowledge
Regular project reviews -- provide customer update on development project milestones and supporting any issues, (often times building relationship and listening to customer)
Product training -- provide product training for customers, distributors, sales people, product engineers
Supporting trade shows -- identifying product and equipment for show, setting up demos and training booth personnel
Handling upgrades -- ensure system upgrades are implemented properly to the field. Engaging customers regarding upgrades as early as possible
Listening for opportunities -- always keep an eye open for more sales opportunities within the account, or for references to other leads outside the customer
Frequent required travel to hospitals and offsite meetings. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be independently mobile. The employee is also required to interact with a computer, and communicate with peers and co-workers.
Need to Have
B.S. in engineering (Mechanical or Biomedical preferred)
3-5 years of relevant experience
Critical thinking with excellent problem-solving
Enthusiastic and diligent self-starter who is results driven
Team player who can build positive relationships
Nice to Have
Master’s, MBA, further education or experience in STEM
Business development experience
Understanding of biomechanics and anatomy
Experience in orthopedic medical devices
Clinical and operating room environment experience and travel up to 50 percent
