Business Development Manager

Position Overview

The Business Development Manager will report to the Head of Acquisitions & Commercialization in establishing relationships and securing product approvals at Group Purchasing Organizations, Surgery Centers, Hospitals, VA/Govt Business. The position will work closely with surgeons and sales representatives at the target approval facility, and internally with finance, legal and customer service requiring up to 80% travel and based at Boston office headquarters. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

General responsibilities

  • Evaluate current customers and leads to analyze existing and required facilities contracts

  • Understand requirements and process from surgeon and facility to aggressively pursue product approvals

  • Prepare documents and initiate price negotiations with Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO), Hospitals, Surgery Centers, Government Contracts to get Company approved to conduct business with these organizations

  • Good understanding of product portfolio and competition for benchmarking price approvals and potential premium carve-outs

  • Develop relations with local surgeon and representative to evaluate new customer and additional product revenue potential within existing approved facilities

  • Work with Finance and Legal to prepare RFPs, contract reviews and finalize agreements

  • Evaluate potential for bulk-sales, long-term hospital contracts and preferred vendor status incentives

  • Strong project management, presentation, analytical skills

  • Organize and track all contract approvals, performance metrics on speed of approvals, pricing, revenues generated

Required competencies

  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in health related or business management fields, MBA preferred

  • +5 years B2B selling, contract negotiation, relationship management experience

  • Excellent presentation, communication and project management skills

  • Highly target driven, focused, ability to multi-task and strive to close/win

  • Track record of exceeding revenue targets and ability to travel

  • Existing relationships with hospitals, surgery center, GPO network is a plus
